Dear resident of Kingsnorth

Under current legislation Ashford Borough Council (ABC) are obliged to find land for development to meet national housing requirements, 24 sites had been submitted in Kingsnorth for consideration, potentially providing 5000 new homes.
ABC have now made a decision on the sites being put forward in the Local Plan and held an exhibition on their proposals at Kingsnorth School on the 28th June.

Kingsnorth Parish council (KPC) offered to host workshops for residents to go through the changes and to give feedback to ABC as the consultation date on this phase of the Local Plan closes on the 10th August 2016.

We have split the Parish into two sections and Workshop 1 scheduled for the 26th July will cover Bridgefield and the Village and Workshop 2 will cover the rest, in particular the revised proposals for the Jarvis & Pentland Homes sites and the new road linking these sites.

Each Workshop will be held at Kingsnorth School and will start at 7pm.

The format of the Workshops will be:

  • Introduction by the Chair of KPC
  • Overview of changes to the plan by Cllr. Hilary Moorby.
  • Facilitated discussion in groups to gather comments from residents.

This is your opportunity to find out more about the Local Plan and what it means for you and the future of Kingsnorth.

All the comments and ideas received at these workshops will be collated and form part of KPC’s submission to ABC regarding the Local Plan.

We look forward to seeing you there.
