Pavilion Extension

An opportunity has arisen to use Section 106 funding from developers to provide new and enhanced recreational facilities in the Parish.

The Parish Council took the decision to increase the Parish precept last year to provide match funding so we could make a real difference to what is on offer.

The pavilion was designed to be a sports pavilion but it is too small for alternative uses and as such we are unable to generate additional income to help cover running costs.

We hold our Parish Council meetings at the pavilion and it is too cramped to welcome large numbers of residents who may want to attend.

Having consulted with current and potential users of the pavilion we have put together a brief which has gone out to tender for an architect to develop a feasibility study for our consideration.

This will compliment the Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) that is planned next to Kingsnorth School which will be available for use out of school hours by clubs and groups.

We are also looking at how we can improve the layout of the car parks.

Free ‘Wi-Fi’ is a recent addition to the facilities in the building and we are on route to creating a welcoming and comprehensive recreational hub within walking distance from the Village, Park Farm and Bridgefield.

A Defibrillator has now been connected and installed to the Pavilion exterior wall. It is fully serviceable and operational, 24 hours a day. Please view this video to see how to use the equipment if an emergency occurs.
